RYU Quick Pack: The Perfect Backpack for the Modern Athlete

A Statement of Style and Function

RYU Apparel Inc introduces the Quick Pack, a reinvented commuter bag designed to meet the needs of the modern athlete. With its sleek profile, tailored technical details, and innovative features, this backpack is the perfect companion for cycling to work, hitting the gym, or traveling around the city.

RYU Apparel Inc, known for their commitment to creating functional and stylish athletic wear, has taken their expertise to the world of accessories with the Quick Pack. Inspired by the cultural icons of cool, such as Steve McQueen, Muhammad Ali, and David Beckham, as well as the concept of "refined contrast," this backpack combines aesthetics and functionality in a unique way.

What sets the Quick Pack apart from other backpacks is its versatility. It is designed to seamlessly transition from the gym to the office, with a clean and professional look that can be worn with business attire. The backpack is made from tough-wearing fabric that has a soft feel, which only improves with age. Its genuine leather details and sleek designer profile add a touch of sophistication.

The Quick Pack is not just about style; it is also highly functional. It features a drop-down front that acts as a personal locker, keeping your belongings organized and secure. The backpack is water and scuff resistant, making it durable and suitable for everyday use. It also includes an internal laptop sleeve, a zippered mesh pocket for incidentals, and a strong liner fabric for extra protection. The design allows for great head clearance while cycling, making it ideal for urban commuters.

RYU Apparel Inc takes pride in their hands-on approach to design. With a dedicated design lab, they are able to create and test prototypes in real-life situations, ensuring that their products meet the needs of their customers. The Quick Pack went through 20 iterations before the final version was perfected, with a focus on minimalism and functionality.

The Quick Pack has a volume of 17 liters and dimensions of H 51cm x D 16cm x W 28cm (H 20in x D 6¼in x W 11in). It was designed by a team of talented individuals, including Damien Kelly, Tony Richardson, Nathan Kukathas, Trina Thompson, Erin McGann, and Adriaan Kwon. The project started in December 2014 in Vancouver, BC, and was completed in August 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City.

RYU Apparel Inc conducted extensive research to identify the needs of athletes in their everyday lives. They discovered that athletes were not being serviced 24/7 by existing brands, which focused solely on the time spent during athletic activities. This insight led to the creation of the Quick Pack, a backpack that caters to the social and everyday life experiences of athletes.

The design process was not without its challenges. RYU Apparel Inc experienced rapid growth during the development of the Quick Pack, going from a team of 4 to 40. Managing the human factor and aligning everyone behind a common goal required open communication and a shared commitment to success.

The Quick Pack has garnered recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Fashion and Travel Accessories Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.

With its combination of style, functionality, and innovation, the RYU Quick Pack is the ultimate backpack for the modern athlete. Whether you're cycling to work, hitting the gym, or simply navigating the city, this backpack is designed to meet your needs and elevate your style.
